i. The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, shall make admissions into aforementioned private sector medical/dental institutions of Punjab against the following categories of seats:
a. Local Open Merit
ii. For information regarding eligibility criteria, number of seats documentary requirements, and other rules and regulations, please carefully go through the detail available on UHS Website (www.uhs.edu.pk). There shall be separate applications for MBBS and BDS which shall be treated as separate categories.
In accordance with “MBBS and BDS (Admissions, House Job and internship) Regulation, 2018 as amended on 30th May, 2019” of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the basic eligibility criteria for admission are as follows:
i. The applicant has passed obtaining minimum Seventy percent (770/1100) marks, in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or F.Sc (Pre Medical) or equivalent examination having minimum twelve year education;
The applicant has passed, obtaining minimum Seventy percent marks in aggregate, in an examination of a course from a foreign university or examining body or foreign education system with at-least three science subjects, that is, Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics, and such course must have been duly certified by the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) as equivalent to Higher Secondary school Certificate (HSSC) or F.Sc. or Intermediate level of Pakistan.
ii. The applicant has passed the Admission Test (MDCAT) of any province/region of Pakistan for the current year with minimum 60 percent (120/200) marks.
i. The applicant holds a permanent foreign nationality or is an Overseas (being a Pakistani citizen permanently residing in a foreign country) Pakistani student, and is resident of a foreign county at the time of applying for admission having completed his /her last two years of education from abroad. The applicant must possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this to this effect.
ii. The applicant has studied and passed obtaining minimum Seventy present marks in aggregate, in an examination of a course from a foreign university or its examining body or its education system in at-least three subjects, i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Mathematics, and such course must have been duly certified by IBCC as equivalent to HSSC/F.Sc./Intermediate level of Pakistan.
iii. The applicant has passed Admission Test (MDCAT) of any province/region for current year with minimum 60 percent (120/200) marks OR having minimum scours of 550/800 in each of three subjects, i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics/ Mathematics OR having minimum score of 500/528 in MCAT*. (SAT II/MCAT* scores notified prior to 7th October, 2017 and after 7th October, 2019 shall not be acceptable.
i. In accordance with “MBBS and BDS (Admission, House Job and Internship) Regulations, 2018, as amended on 30th May, 2019”, the merit for the purpose of admissions shall be calculated as an Aggregate Percentage of marks derived from the weightage formula of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) by adding the marks in the following ratio:
FSC, Pre- Medical/HSSC/Equivalent - 50%
Admission Test - 50 %
Note: Aggregate Percentage can be calculated by adding the percentages of HSSC/F.S.c. Pre-Medical/Equivalent marks and Admission Test marks and then dividing the sum by two (2).
