Anti- Dengue Campaign

The University of Faisalabad organized number of events regarding Anti- Dengue Campaign from August 28 to September 2, 2012. The students and staff were given awareness lectures in series. Anti-dengue campaign stalls were installed in the Campus.

On Sunday September 2, 2012 an awareness rally regarding anti-dengue campaign was carried out by the management, faculty members and students of the University on Sargodha Road.

Students and staff of the University also distributed pamphlets and brochures in different areas of the City particularly on the motor way for the public awareness.

Later, an awareness seminar was also organized for the people who are directly exposed to Dengue fever like gardeners, sanitary workers, security guards and unskilled workers of The University of Faisalabad, University Medical & Dental College, Madina Teaching Hospital, University College for Women and University Cambridge School.  Prof Dr Zahid Masood, Head Department of Community & Preventive Medicine, University Medical & Dental College Faisalabad delivered comprehensive awareness lecture with the help of presentations and videos. Dr Zahid Masood explained that Dengue seems to be more or less a social problem than a disease. He highlighted the facts that it can be controlled by proper environmental management, and personal protection measures. Dengue can only be controlled if people in the community are made part of control activities he added. He appreciated the efforts of the Government of Punjab in trying to control the disease.

CDC team members comprising of Dr Hadayat Rasool, Microbiologist, Dr Shehbaz and Dr Kashif, Entomologists, visited the University premises and appreciated the efforts of the University Management for the Anti Dengue Campaign.
