Photography is picture language. Unlike the spoken or written word, it is a form of communication that can be internationally understood. It is a form of art and most effective way of communication. It can be used therapeutically.

Department of Press & Publication, The University of Faisalabad organized “Inter-Schools Photography Competition” on May 30, 2012 in Saleem Campus. The theme was “University building and Campus life”. Eighteen students from different Schools participated and each participant presented 3 pictures for the competition. Students showed keen interest and thronged to the exhibition.

Prof Dr Faqir Hussain Khan, Director Coordination, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, Mr Saleem Akhtar Kayani, Director Press  and Publication alongwith other faculty members and large number of students visited the picture gallery.

Sheikh Muhammad Ilyas renowned photographer was the chief judge alongwith Mr Asadullah, press photographer and Ms Tehmina Khalid, Lecturer of Fine Arts at University College for Women.

The results were as follows:

First Position:                      Maraym Khurshid, Pharm-D

Second Position(2):             Iqra Shahid, MBBS   & Marya , BDS

Third Position:                    Roha Farooq, BBA

Consolation Prize:               Maryam Shehzadi, MA Islamic Sciences

The winners were awarded certificates.
